Me and my stuff

I am an all-round creative with over 20 years experience. For the last five years I have been in a client side role responsible for an online software product and its marketing and brand guardianship. All creative direction, design and production went through me.

My previous life on the agency side was in digital arena with a few integrated briefs thrown in for good measure. Online is where my strengths and heart lie. But, I draw on my extensive experience to be able tackle a print brief too and bring it all together in an integrated solution.

I am just as happy designing/art directing a small funky campaign for a boutique startup or a massive CMS driven global site. I thrive in a collaborative team environment and enjoy working with each team member, however it is made up: Content strategists, IAs and UX guys, writers, photographers and illustrators. Then creating and overseeing pixel perfect PSDs and prototypes for final production and engaging with top dev. guys for a quality finished product.

A little bit of history
I started on the boards and Cow Gum all those years ago. Then became a Designer/visualiser when Macs first came along, got pretty good at it, I became a sought after freelancer and particularly enjoyed buzzing around Soho based creative agencies for about 10 years.

I spent a further 10 years at Joshua honing my skills, working with some fantastic people. In career terms, you could say I grew up there. I was there from day one as a Digital Designer and started taking on a more of a conceptual role expanding my knowledge of this then emerging new channel.

A merger with creative departments gave me the opportunity to work across all media and worked on Digital, DOOH, Outdoor, Press, Radio and a bit of TV. I went freelance again, preferring long contracts. I spent a year at Leagas Delaney and eighteen months at M&C Saatchi as a Senior Digital Designer/Art Director.

Music is the answer

I still spin tunes from time to time even though I am an old man. I don’t play out anywhere near as much as I used to, but I keep up with the latest releases on Beatport and Traxsource. I keep my Mixcloud account reasonably up to date, I like to keep my hand in and up to date with new tunes.

I enjoy the creative process of putting a mix together, either to record or in front of a crowd. If you like House, check me out on Mixcloud.
